Job summary

CSIRO, Australia's national science agency, is seeking an Executive Officer for Space & Astronomy in Sydney. You will provide strategic, operational and governance support to the Director and executive team, coordinating planning and driving key initiatives in a collaborative, outcome‑oriented environment.

You will work across executive leadership, stakeholders and CSIRO enterprise functions, preparing briefings, reports and communications to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent management experience.
• Ability to prepare strategic briefings, reports and government communications.
• Experience supporting executive leadership and governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level advice and support to the Director and Space & Astronomy Executive.
• Prepare briefings, correspondence, presentations, and reports on strategic matters.
• Coordinate strategic, scientific, operational and business planning and reporting.
• Lead complex projects and initiatives within the research unit.
• Coordinate governance, assurance, audit, compliance and risk activities.
• Support committees and leadership meetings and events.
• Analyse performance information to align culture and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with government, industry and national research infrastructure stakeholders.
