Job summary

HumanAbility, an Australian Jobs and Skills Council, seeks an Executive Director, Strategic Engagement to lead stakeholder engagement, partnerships and policy advocacy. The role is full-time, hybrid, with national scope and travel as required.

Lead strategic engagement, manage IAC/ITAB initiatives, build a high-performing team, and guide governance aligned with DEWR obligations and public-sector standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading stakeholder engagement or member relations.
• Strong understanding of policy, government relations and reform landscape.
• Experience building strategic engagement plans with national reach.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a high-value stakeholder engagement strategy.
• Oversee national portfolio of relationships across sectors, including peak bodies and unions.
• Direct engagement with Industry Advisory Council (IAC) and ITAB initiatives.
• Design strategies to deepen engagement from transactional to influential.
• Provide governance and reporting to CEO, Board and senior leadership.
