Job summary

Greater Shepparton City Council invites an experienced Emergency Management Specialist to strengthen regional safety and resilience. You will lead the development of comprehensive emergency management plans spanning mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, ensuring compliance with legislative obligations.

You will coordinate reviews, run community education, organise training exercises, and build strong networks with government and emergency services to protect the community.

Qualifications

• Understanding Victorian emergency management arrangements including mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
• Experience in developing strategy and procedures within a structured legislative framework.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to negotiate and build networks with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust emergency management plans and systems for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
