Job summary

Aspire is seeking a strategic Compliance Officer & MLRO for its Australian office in Sydney. You will oversee statutory AML/CTF responsibilities, act as RM on AFSLs, and manage the AML program across payments and investment products.

You will lead regulatory liaison with ASIC/AUSTRAC and guide product teams on compliant customer journeys. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in financial crime or compliance in Australia, with AML/CTF Act experience and AFSL RM readiness.

Qualifications

7+ years in Financial Crime, Compliance or Legal within fintech, banking or wealth management in Australia.
Prior MLRO/AML officer experience and AFSL RM readiness preferred.
Deep understanding of AML/CTF laws and Corporations Act 2001 amendments.
Experience leading senior stakeholders on financial crime initiatives.
Strong grasp of AI concepts and ability to apply AI tools to solve problems.

Responsibilities

Serve as statutory AML/CTF Compliance Officer and RM on AFSLs.
Oversee AML/CTF program, including monitoring and reporting.
Lead regulatory liaison with ASIC, AUSTRAC and external auditors.
Lead compliance framework for product launches (payments and investments).
Advise on customer journeys (KYC, onboarding, suitability) for compliant growth.
