Job summary

Remitly in Australia seeks a Compliance Officer and MLRO to oversee the Australian compliance program and regulatory obligations. You will work under the Head of Compliance APAC to manage risks, implement controls, and adapt policies to evolving regulations in the APAC region.

You will liaise with AUSTRAC and other authorities, oversee AML policies, and ensure timely reporting to the Board and management. A strong emphasis on analytical skills, discretion, and stakeholder collaboration is

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the compliance and AML sector, ideally in financial services/fintech.
• Experience with AUSTRAC and knowledge of corresponding regulatory obligations is preferred.
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills with a "get it done" mindset.
• Ability to partner effectively and communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, extreme attention to detail and discretion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the compliance program for Remitly Australia and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update compliance manuals and related documentation; act as the point of contact for Australian authorities.
• Provide regular compliance reporting and management information to the Board and Management.
• Define training and awareness programs for regulatory obligations and monitor compliance breaches.
