Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Communications Officer to deliver media, public relations and communications activities across the organisation, creating engaging content and supporting strategies to strengthen the Council's reputation with the community, stakeholders and media.

You will prepare media releases, develop campaigns, respond to media inquiries, and provide communications advice while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; a NSW Driver Licence is required and

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience in journalism, media or communications.
• Experience preparing media releases, speeches, newsletters and other materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with tailoring to audiences.
• Experience developing communication plans, reports and submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Strong organisational, research and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media releases, speeches, newsletters and other materials.
