Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience delivering strategic communication and stakeholder engagement programs.
• Strong writing, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of community engagement principles and frameworks (IAP2 preferred).
• Ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across diverse groups.
• Experience in a government or public sector environment is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of strategic communication and engagement plans.
• Provide expert advice and leadership on community engagement across Council.
• Design and deliver communication campaigns for key projects and initiatives.
• Manage and support Council's engagement platforms and processes.
• Build strong relationships with media, community groups and stakeholders.
• Analyse engagement outcomes and use insights to improve future approaches.
• Support emergency communications and media responses when required.
• Lead a Communications and Engagement Officer and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
