THE OPPORTUNITY


Lead the development and execution of integrated strategic marketing, channel marketing and communications plans that support DePuy Synthes for ANZ. Strengthen customer engagement, leveraging new digital platforms to better connect DePuy Synthes with important stakeholders and build organisations share of voice that drive measurable impact across HCP, hospital, patient and commercial channels. Support internal programs that drive change and align teams around common set of behaviours and One DePuy Synthes mindset

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and own the strategic marketing plan for the DePuy Synthes ANZ business, translating business priorities, customer insights and market dynamics into clear annual and quarterly activation plans.
  • Partner with commercial, clinical, medical, HR, HCC, legal, and communications stakeholders to define priorities, target audiences, channel mix, messaging approach, investment focus and success measures.
  • Lead integrated campaign planning and governance across digital, PR, sales enablement, patient activation and customer-facing channels, ensuring activity is aligned to business strategy, brand priorities, compliance requirements and measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Set and manage the channel marketing strategy for HCP, hospital, patient and partner channels, including digital platforms, customer communications, agency-led activity, salesforce enablement, events and third-party collaborations.
  • Define channel objectives, audience segmentation, content priorities and performance metrics, ensuring each channel is used effectively to build awareness, engagement, education and conversion.
  • Manage performance measurement, optimization and reporting across marketing, channel and communications activities. Use insights from campaign performance, website engagement, customer feedback and salesforce input to refine strategy, prioritise investment, identify opportunities and provide clear recommendations to leadership on marketing effectiveness and business impact.
  • Manage ANZ’s digital channels and develop a plan to seamlessly draw together platforms to ensure they are being used efficiently and connecting the right messages to the right audiences.
  • Explore opportunities to utilize new platforms and digital channels that would allow DePuy Synthes ANZ to better connect with priority stakeholders, including patients, health care organizations, advocacy groups and clinicians and internal teams.
  • Partner with regional communications to ensure internal stakeholder updates, digital content, launch communications and patient-facing materials and executed.
  • Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, compliant, insight-led and tailored to the needs of different audiences, while maintaining alignment with brand guidelines, company strategy and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal programs that drive change and align teams around common set of behaviours to ombed a One DePuy Synthes mindset

  • Internal: Marketing leadership and colleagues, Sales and Commercial teams, Digital, HCC, HR, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Communications, Finance, Operations, Global and Regional Marketing stakeholders.
  • External: PR agency partners, advertising and creative agency partners, digital partners, hospital marketing and communications teams, hospital leadership stakeholders, surgeon KOLs, consumer organisation partners and other external customer or channel stakeholders.

Scope of Role

  • Customers/ Account contacts - Hospital Marketing and Communication Managers, Surgeons, Patients
  • Purpose of activities - Drive business growth by translating portfolio strategy into integrated marketing, channel and communications programs that increase customer engagement, support salesforce effectiveness, strengthen market positioning and improve the impact of customer-facing activity.
  • Impact of activities and decision-making - Responsible for strategic recommendations and day-to-day decisions that influence channel prioritization, campaign direction, messaging, agency outputs, customer communications and internal engagement. Decisions impact customer experience, brand perception, salesforce enablement, compliance risk management and delivery of marketing priorities across the Australian business.
  • Level of autonomy/ supervision received - Operates with a high level of autonomy, setting priorities and managing complex cross-functional initiatives with limited supervision. Expected to proactively identify opportunities, make strategic recommendations, influence stakeholders, manage agencies and escalation key risks or decisions where appropriate.

  • Resource Management - Manages external agency partners, project budgets, timelines, channel plans, campaign resources and cross-functional project inputs to deliver agreed strategic marketing and communications outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

Desirable:

  • Tertiary education ideal
  • Preferred area of study: Business, Marketing or Communications
  • Preferred related industry experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in strategic marketing, channel marketing, brand management, customer communications or integrated campaign leadership, ideally within medical technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategy, channel plans and integrated customer engagement programs that support business growth.
  • Strong understanding of channel marketing, audience segmentation, customer journey planning, content strategy and campaign performance measurement.
  • Experience leading digital, communications, PR, website, sales enablement and customer facing and internal engagement initiatives in a compliant healthcare or regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage cross-functional decision-making, lead agency partners and align activity across commercial, marketing, medical, legal and compliance teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and ability to translate insights, performance data and customer feedback into clear recommendations and practical plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high levels of rapport building skills and emotional intelligence
  • Self-driven, motivated, able to quickly understand success requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and achieve business impact with many different stakeholders and interests.
  • Experience building strong agency client working relationships (either from agency or client side) to deliver impactful creative product aligned to strategy, and within budget and timeline.
  • Exemplary project management skills and eye for detail.
