Job summary

Downer's Energy & Utilities is seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will partner with operational, finance and project teams to improve commercial outcomes across a portfolio of contracts and projects.

The role involves supporting performance, protecting margins, managing contractual risks and driving governance across the business, with periodic travel to project sites in the Eastern States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in commercial management within construction, engineering, maintenance or infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience managing contracts, claims, variations, risk and opportunity processes during project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracting principles, contract administration and financial performance management.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and partner effectively with operational, project and finance teams.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accounting or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership and advice across diverse construction, maintenance and service contracts.
• Lead the management of claims, variations, contract changes and dispute resolution activities.
• Support risk and opportunity management initiatives that drive margin improvement and business outcomes.
• Partner with operational and finance teams to oversee contract performance, revenue capture and cash collection.
• Contribute to commercial reporting, project governance and performance improvement initiatives across the business.
