Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Senior Buyer to support a regional portfolio of Energy & Utilities projects by sourcing materials, equipment and services that deliver value, quality and reliability.

You will drive procurement planning, sourcing and contract activities while ensuring compliance with Downer standards and governance requirements, and identify cost optimization opportunities across the business.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Supply Chain/Procurement/Engineering).
5+ years' experience in procurement, contract management and/or project management.
Strong understanding of source-to-contract and procure-to-pay processes within governance frameworks.
Analytical, commercial and stakeholder management skills with ERP experience.
Proactive, solutions-focused and able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain procurement plans aligned with project requirements and governance.
Lead sourcing and contracting activities including RFx, supplier evaluations and contract administration.
Build and maintain supplier relationships, qualification, and performance management.
Monitor compliance with P2P, delegation of authority and payment terms.
Identify procurement risks, cost-saving opportunities and provide advisory support to project teams.
