Job summary

Recruitmark is partnering with a well-established Australian business in the building materials and distribution sector to appoint a commercially minded Chief Financial Officer.

This role is based at the company’s head office in Prestons, New South Wales. You will lead financial reporting, governance and commercial strategy, strengthening reporting and processes across inventory, distribution, systems and administration to support sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Senior finance leadership experience within building materials, wholesale, distribution, manufacturing or another product-led environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen across working capital, margins, forecasting and business performance.
• Ability to use systems, data and reporting to improve visibility and support better decision-making.
• Hands-on and collaborative approach, able to balance strategic priorities with operational detail.
• Applicants must be Australian/New Zealand citizens or have Permanent Residency.

Responsibilities

• Shaping financial strategy, planning and performance management to support growth and profitability.
• Managing financial performance across inventory, distribution, working capital and margins.
• Driving business improvement initiatives across finance, systems and processes to strengthen governance and scalability.
• Partnering with the Executive Leadership Team to evaluate commercial opportunities and manage risk.
• Maximising NetSuite and finance function to enhance reporting, data integrity and decision-making.
