Job summary

Office of the Queensland Ombudsman in Brisbane seeks a Director, Corporate Services / Chief Finance Officer to lead governance, finance, facilities, procurement and IT. You will coordinate complex programs, report to the Executive Director Corporate Strategy, and engage with external stakeholders and auditors.

You will guide strategic direction, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a strong ethical workplace while supporting senior leadership across multiple corporate functions.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least one of the following professional qualifications: CPA Australia, CA, or MIPA/FIPA membership.
• Role requires leading corporate services functions including governance, finance, facilities, procurement and IT.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage finance, governance, facilities, procurement and IT teams to plan, implement, review and improve corporate activity.
• Coordinate annual budget preparation and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory obligations, including FBT and GST legislation.
• Prepare financial material and statutory submissions and liaise with auditors and Queensland Treasury.
• Provide expert advice on financial management, governance, IT and compliance matters to senior leadership.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and model high standards of integrity and ethics.
• Represent the Office in engagements with central agencies, peers, suppliers and staff.
