Job summary

The University of Western Australia is seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead strategic procurement and category management at a leading research-intensive university. This full-time, fixed-term 12-month appointment offers a base salary range of $139,660 to $147,783 plus 17% super.

You will develop category strategies, mitigate risks, maximize value, and support sustainable procurement across the University.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification and/or MCIPS accreditation with procurement expertise.
• Extensive experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
• Proven leadership of procurement teams and programs.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with experience negotiating complex agreements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of category management strategies and procurement plans.
• Provide expert commercial advice on procurement, contracts, supplier performance and risk.
• Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team focused on continuous improvement.
