Job summary

UnitingCare Hospital seeks an experienced Category Manager to lead clinical category procurement within our Hospitals. You will drive strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract optimisation to deliver sustainable commercial outcomes across a large not-for-profit health system.

Reporting to the General Manager Procurement & Supply, you will collaborate with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders to achieve savings, ensure supply continuity and support frontline services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement and contract management within a medium to large organisation.
• Ability to develop category strategies aligned to organisational objectives and supplier performance reviews.
• Experience leading RFx, tenders, negotiations and supplier selection in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
• Analyse spend, supplier markets, risks and demand patterns to identify opportunities for value creation and cost optimisation.
• Lead sourcing projects, RFx processes, tender evaluations and commercial negotiations.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance reviews and innovation initiatives.
• Negotiate contracts and monitor performance to maximise commercial value and compliance outcomes.
• Partner with clinical and executive stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver procurement solutions.
• Deliver savings initiatives, monitor category performance and support budgeting processes.
• Identify and manage supply chain, supplier and market risks through proactive mitigation strategies.
• Develop category dashboards, KPI reporting and strategic recommendations for leadership teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation and procurement transformation initiatives across the organisation.
