Job summary

Swan Hill Rural City Council is seeking a motivated and analytical Business Performance Officer to join Corporate Services. This on-site, permanent full-time role supports managers with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, turning data into insights that improve service delivery.

You will analyse financial/operational data, prepare reports and dashboards, map processes, and work across the organisation to implement efficiency gains and smarter system use.

Qualifications

• Experience analysing financial information and supporting budgeting or reporting processes.
• Experience reviewing business processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Analyse financial and operational data for trends and opportunities.
• Prepare dashboards and business cases for decision-making.
• Map and improve business processes across Council.
• Collaborate with staff to improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to use systems and automation.
• Contribute to business improvement projects across the organisation.
• Develop practical recommendations and support implementation of approved improvements.
