Job summary

Islander Foodservice Pty in Sydney's western suburbs seeks an experienced forklift operator/store person based in Wetherill Park. You will load/unload trucks, replenish warehouse stock and ensure accurate order preparation for outbound deliveries.

This Monday–Friday role starts at 4:30am with attendance incentives, offers onsite parking, and immediate start with on-the-job training in a family-owned business that has served cafes and schools for over 30 years.

Qualifications

• Forklift ticket essential and prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong numerical and stock management skills.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders with team members and load vehicles for outbound deliveries.
• Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles.
• Assist with stock takes and inventory control.
• Receive incoming goods and put stock away.
• Replenish warehouse stock levels alone or with others.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized warehouse.
• Perform general warehouse duties.
• Ensure HACCP and WH&S standards are met.

Job description

We have a vacancy for an experienced forklift operator / store person to join our team based in Wetherill Park.

The role will be Monday - Friday, starting at 4.30am and includes attendance incentives

The position also allows for 12 weeks throughout the year of shortened hours for the same weekly pay.

As a store person you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, accurate and timely loading and unloading of trucks and warehouse replenishment.

Your new role will include:

• Working with other team members to prepare orders and load our vehicles for outbound deliveries
• Loading and unloading trucks and delivery vehicles
• Assisting with stock takes and inventory control
• Receiving incoming goods and put stock away
• Working alone and with other team members to replenish warehouse stock levels
• Maintaining the warehouse in a safe, clean and organized fashion as required
• General warehouse duties
• Ensuring work is performed to HACCP and WH&S standards.

About you

• We are looking for an experienced and motivated employee with a forklift ticket.
• This role will suit a self motivated person who is organised, results driven and looking for a long-term opportunity.
• A strong work ethic and good physical fitness and able to perform manual tasks
• Legally permitted to work in Australia
• Good attention to detail and numerical skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in team environment
• Previous experience in food distribution will be an advantage
• Previous warehouse experience
