Job summary

Bishop Brothers engineering Ltd – Banyo QLD is seeking a motivated Store person to join our small Warehouse team at the Brisbane Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for receiving, handling and dispatching goods, ensuring correct products and quantities, and minimal damage.

Candidates must have valid Australian work rights; entry-level applicants will be trained. Forklift LO license is advantageous, and MS Office proficiency is expected for daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, handle and dispatch goods at Brisbane Distribution Centre.

• Pick, pack, wrap and dispatch orders to internal customers for sea or air freight.
• Keep the warehouse area neat and comply with procedures and regs.

Bishops is a leading PNG industrial hardware and safety equipment supplier with over 50 years of experience in servicing Mining & Civil, Government, Oil and Gas, Electrical, MRO, Commercial, Construction and Engineering industries.

Opportunity for a motivated Store person with a can-do attitude to join our small Warehouse team within our Australian consolidation depot in Brisbane (Banyo).

The role

You will be responsible for the receiving, handling and dispatching of goods coming into, or out of our Brisbane Distribution Centre. This includes checking goods on arrival and before loading containers for dispatch to PNG ports, making sure they have the right products, in the correct quantity and that there is no damage.

If you have just finished school and looking for an opportunity at an entry level, don't fret not having any work experience, this position may be suitable for us to train you in all aspects of the role.

Candidates must hold a valid work visa or have appropriate work rights to work in Australia.

Other responsibilities include the ability to:

Operate licensed and non-licensed material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack or trolley to assist in loading and unloading trucks and moving goods around the warehouse for storage

Responsible for the picking, packing, wrapping and dispatching completed orders to internal customers for sea or air freight

Responsible for ensuring the storing and packing of goods and materials is in accordance with appropriate procedures and/or regulations

Operate computer system for entering details of received delivery slips, requisitions, invoices

Allocating and retrieving goods from specific warehouse areas

Ensure the warehouse area is neat and tidy

Working to achieve the goals and targets defined by the company

You will need to bring to Bishops:

Your positive personality to a team dedicated to rolling up their sleeves and giving anything a go

Previous warehousing desirable, if no experience a willingness to learn and we will train you

Current Forklift license (LO) advantageous, if not we will train you

Ability to get yourself to work on time daily

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

Ability to follow instruction, with the opportunity to work independently, and also as part of our small team

Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

Be physically fit and enjoy practical and manual work
