Job summary

Austin Engineering is a leading global provider of mining solutions and equipment, seeking a Storeperson / QA Officer to join the Perth team. This hands-on role blends warehouse operations with quality assurance responsibilities, including inspecting incoming parts against specifications before stockroom acceptance.

Reporting to the Material Control Lead, you will maintain inventory accuracy, support workshop operations and ensure parts meet purchase orders and drawings, while safely operating

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence (LF) and valid manual driver's licence.
• Experience in stores, warehouse or logistics roles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and purchase orders.
• Experience inspecting incoming parts and materials.
• Proficient with ERP systems and stock control.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and process incoming parts and materials.
• Conduct physical quality inspections on incoming goods to verify quantity, condition and compliance with specifications.
• Read and interpret drawings, part numbers, purchase orders and technical documentation to confirm conformity.
• Identify, quarantine and report damaged, defective or non-conforming items.
• Maintain accurate inspection, inventory and stock records within the ERP system.
• Pick, pack and dispatch parts and materials to support workshop operations.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory management activities.
• Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and freight providers.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the warehouse and yard.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support workshop and operational teams to meet production requirements.

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Storeperson / QA Officer to join our Perth team.

This hands‑on role combines warehouse operations with quality assurance responsibilities.

This role would suit an experienced Storeperson with strong quality assurance capabilities, including the ability to physically inspect incoming goods and interpret engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specification before being accepted into stock.

Roster: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm. Every second Saturday, 6:00am to 12:00pm or 2:00pm (as required).

About the Role

About You (Essential)

• Current Forklift Licence (LF).
• Current Manual Driver's Licence.
• Previous experience in a Stores, Warehouse or Logistics role.
• Experience conducting physical quality inspections on incoming goods, parts and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, part specifications and purchase orders.
• Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Preferred but not Essential

• High Risk Work Licence – Overhead Crane (CN).
• Dogging Licence (DG).
• Certificate II or III in Warehousing Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Operations or a related discipline.
• Experience within mining, manufacturing, heavy engineering or earthmoving industries.
• Understanding of non-conformance reporting and quality management processes.
