Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Store Person at Kewdale, WA. Join a team focused on safe, efficient warehousing and stores tasks aligned with our vision and values.

You will handle material movements, stock takes, and data entry while coordinating with logistics providers and suppliers to ensure timely despatch and goods receipt. A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or services warehousing.
• Strong organisational, time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• Current Driver Licence and Forklift Licence; willingness to obtain First Aid, Fire Warden, Overhead Gantry Crane

Responsibilities

• Comply with EHS & Quality requirements per Wabtec policies.
• Conduct material movements, forklift operations, goods receipting, and coordinate with logistics providers.
• Conduct stock takes and/or cycle counts; maintain inventory accuracy and traceability.
• Ensure documentation and data entry for stores/warehouse tasks are complete.
• Escalate issues and provide recommendations to site leadership on EHS/quality/continuous improvement.
• Support Stores team with processes and knowledge to meet Operations goals.
• Participate in team meetings, training and development activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment; ensure prestart checks and maintenance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, lean and 5S initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
• Take ownership to support business performance and customer satisfaction.
• Be prepared to work extra hours; travel may be required.
• Perform other related duties as required to support operations

How will you make a difference?

In alignment with Wabtec’s Vision, Mission, and Values, safely and efficiently complete all assigned warehouse and stores tasks, contributing to the overall achievement of the Kewdale Operations’ business goals and objectives.

What will your typical day look like?

• Comply with EHS & Quality requirements in accordance with Wabtec policies and procedures
• Conduct material movements, forklift operations, goods receipting, and coordinate with logistics providers and/or suppliers for the collection and despatch of materials in accordance with relevant work instructions, stores processes, EHS and quality standards
• Conduct stock takes and/or cycle counts
• Maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability through the effective execution of stores processes and system transactions
• Ensure all relevant documentation and data entry associated with stores and warehouse tasks and processes are completed accurately and in full
• Escalate issues and provide recommendations to the site-based leadership team regarding any EHS, quality, technical and continuous improvement matters
• Support other Stores team members with relevant processes, procedures, and technical knowledge to support the achievement of Operations team goals
• Actively participate in team meetings, training and development activities
• Ensure the work environment, plant, tooling, and equipment are maintained to a safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times
• Ensure all plant, tooling and equipment have prestart checks and/or preventive maintenance carried out prior to use in accordance with relevant requirements
• Comply with and support continuous improvement, lean and 5S initiatives
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
• Take ownership of responsibilities and actively contribute towards the achievement of business performance goals, delivery timeframes and customer satisfaction
• Be willing to work reasonable additional hours as required to support business needs
• Domestic or international travel may be required
• Perform other related duties as reasonably required to support business operations

What do we want to know about you?

• Relevant experience within a manufacturing or services warehousing environment
• Effective organisational, time management, multi-tasking, and communication skills
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems
• Current Driver Licence and Forklift Licence
• Currently Hold/Willing to obtain - First Aid, Fire Warden, Overhead Gantry Crane
