Job summary

SMCP Australia Pty Ltd, through its David Jones Adelaide store, is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our upmarket retail operation. This full-time role focuses on driving store performance, coaching a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional customer service in a premium fashion environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Store Manager or senior retail management
• Ability to lead and develop retail teams
• Strong commercial awareness with track record of driving sales and profitability
• Excellent budgeting, P&L management and cost control
• Exceptional customer service orientation and relationship building
• Strong organisational and time management across priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with teams at all levels
• Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and best practices

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing retail team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
• Manage day-to-day store operations including stock management, visual merchandising, and presentation standards
• Drive sales performance through effective staff management, customer engagement strategies, and promotions
• Implement and maintain company policies, procedures, and health & safety standards
• Train and mentor store staff to build a strong, capable team
• Manage inventory levels and liaise with head office on stock requirements
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat business
