Job summary

Indie Campers in Cairns is seeking a hands-on depot operator with a passion for customer service to maintain a clean and functioning fleet. You will report directly to the APAC Area Operations Manager and ensure top customer care, smooth check-ins/outs, and reliable depot operations.

You’ll handle fleet maintenance, staff coaching, stock control, and coordinating local suppliers in a fast-growing company that values proactive problem-solving and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in Tourism, Hospitality, Retail or Rent-a-car is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortable speaking with customers.
• Eligible to work in Australia, hold a valid driver’s license and can drive a campervan.
• Available to work weekends and national holidays.
• Responsible, reliable and well-organized with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming reservations, welcoming guests and taking care of check-ins and check-outs.
• Take care of the fleet, logistics, and ensure campervans are well maintained.
• Assist in training, supervising, and coaching your team.
• Booking activities control, manage stock, local suppliers and cleaning services.
• Handle complaints, emergencies, and any local issue to keep operations smooth.
• Prepare and clean our campervans.
• Assist in reselling campervans, prepare and show to prospective buyers.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for people with an outstanding customer service passion for our depot in Cairns. You’ll be the face of a role model for our company, reporting directly to theAPAC Area Operations Manager, with the goal of demonstrating top customer care, maintaining the fleet of campervans in neat conditions, and showing accountability of each important instance that need to be led to ensure flawlessly functioning of the depot.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

• Handle incoming reservations, welcoming guests and taking care of check-ins and check-outs;
• Taking care of the fleet, logistics, and making sure our campervans are maintained in top condition by monitoring maintenance and repairing need;
• Assist in Training, supervising, and coaching your team;
• Booking activities control, manage stock, local suppliers and cleaning services;
• Handle complaints, emergencies, and any local issue that may arise to make sure operations run smoothly;
• Preparing and cleaning our campervans;
• Assisting in reselling campervans, preparing and showing them to prospective buyers.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• You are a travel enthusiast with an aptitude for direct contact with customers, with experience in Tourism, Hospitality, Retail or Rent-a-car being desirable;
• You have great communication skills and feel comfortable speaking directly with customers;
• You’re eligible to work in Australia, have a valid driver's license and feel confident enough to drive a campervan (mandatory);
• You’re available to work weekends and national holidays;
• You’re a responsible person who takes their work seriously and can be relied upon;
• You’re well-organized and you’re good at solving problems.
