LagardèreAWPL operates Icons, a fast-paced food and retail venue at Cairns Airport, delivering local flavors, crafted beverages, and a broad retail mix for travellers. We seek an energetic Full-Time Store Manager who can own the store, lead from the front and build a high-performing team.

You will be responsible for overall performance, driving sales, customer experience and maintaining strong operational, financial and people standards in a remote airport environment.

The Role

Icons is a fast-paced food and retail venue at Cairns Airport, offering travellers and our team, the best of both worlds. The venue combines a locally inspired food menu with crafted hot and cold beverages, refreshing non-alcoholic options and a range of local brews. Alongside this is an extensive retail offer, creating a unique mix of food, beverage and convenience for travellers on the move.

We’re looking for an energetic, commercially minded and hands-on Full-Time Store Manager who can take ownership of the store, lead from the front and build a high-performing team.

You’ll be responsible for the overall performance of the store, driving sales, delivering a great customer experience and maintaining strong operational, financial and people standards.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the day-to-day operation of a fast-paced food and retail store
• Coach, develop and inspire your team to perform at their best
• Drive sales, service and overall store performance
• Manage labour, rostering, stock, wastage and operational costs
• Maintain strong food safety, compliance and presentation standards
• Deliver consistently great customer experiences
• Take ownership of store KPIs and identify opportunities to improve performance
• Maintain strong merchandising, availability and retail standards
• Build a positive, accountable and respectful team culture
• Lead from the front and support the team during busy periods

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Store Manager looking to broaden their scope and skill set, with the autonomy to lead across a unique multi-style food and retail operation. Equally, it’s an exciting next step for an ambitious Assistant Store Manager who is ready to take on greater ownership, develop their leadership capability and progress into their first Store Manager role.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food or convenience environment
• Strong people leadership, coaching and team-development capability
• Commercial awareness and confidence working with sales, labour and operational KPIs
• A proactive, hands-on leadership style
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
• Flexibility to work across rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holiday (where required)
• Valid Australian working rights and eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
