Icon By Design is seeking an experienced Store and Retail Leader to oversee operations across three Australian showrooms. This hands-on role drives sales, merchandising, service standards and people management while aligning with brand values.

You will act as the bridge to Head Office, collaborating with CX, marketing, product and logistics, and travel regularly across Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland to ensure performance targets are met.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in multi-site retail leadership roles, preferably in homewares or lifestyle.
• Proven track record of driving retail performance and leading teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with sales data interpretation and budget sense.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Store and Retail Leader to oversee the operations, performance, and people management of our three Australian showrooms. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll work closely with store teams to drive sales, ensure operational excellence, and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience that aligns with our brand values.

You’ll act as the key bridge between the stores and our Head Office, working cross-functionally with customer experience, marketing, product, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of performance targets and retail strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Store & Retail Leader based in our Sydney showroom 4 days per week and 1 day in our Head Office.
• Lead, train and mentor showroom teams in Sydney, Melbourne & Queensland to drive sales and upskill team
• Develop store reporting metrics & KPIs and provide regular insights to the leadership team
• Ensure excellence in day-to-day retail operations across all locations
• Own and execute national retail strategy, including showroom presentation, service standards, and local marketing execution
• Collaborate with Head Office teams (Customer Experience, eCommerce, Marketing, Product, Logistics, Visual Merchandising) to align digital and physical retail efforts
• Analyse store performance and implement initiatives to improve conversion, average order value, and customer satisfaction
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance management for retail teams
• Plan staffing schedules, manage budgets, and ensure efficient resource allocation
• Maintain stock presentation standards and coordinate with supply chain teams on inventory needs
• Oversee in-store events and activations to enhance the customer experience
• Travel between Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland to maintain strong presence and oversight

About You

• 10+ years’ experience in multi-site retail leadership roles, ideally in homewares, furniture, or lifestyle sectors
• Proven track record of driving retail performance and leading high-performing teams
• Strong commercial acumen with experience interpreting sales data and managing P&Ls
• Passion for customer experience and creating an inspiring in-store environment
• Hands‑on leader with the ability to coach, motivate and build culture across locations
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced, founder‑led environment
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with central/head office teams
• Willingness to travel regularly between Sydney, Melbourne & Queensland
