Job summary

Hyatt Hotel Canberra is seeking a Team Leader – Stewarding to oversee daily Stewarding operations in a fast-paced hotel setting. You will supervise team members, assist chefs, and ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role requires strong people management, excellent communication, and flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays, with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Current work experience in a similar fast-paced environment, highly regarded.
• Strong people management and interpersonal skills, along with good communication skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and the desire to produce high quality operational and administrative outcomes.
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Stewards in the daily operations
• Delegate responsibilities and duties to Stewarding team members and monitor their tasks including cleaning, dishwashing or pot washing where necessary
• Work with the team to maximize employee morale and productivity
• Assist in conducting fortnightly payroll processing with the support of Human Resources and Payroll
• Conduct monthly inventory checks on all operating equipment and supplies

About the Role

As the Team Leader – Stewarding, you will assist with the smooth and efficient running of the department throughthe supervision. You will assist and guide with cleaning and storage of operating equipment. Working in a team you will support the Chef in supervising and managing the day to day operations.

Please note; the role doesnotinvolve any food preparation, though, on occasion you may be required to assist the chefs with plate-up.
