Aurizon is expanding its South Australian operations and seeks a hands-on Casual Stevedore Coordinator to lead port-based transport and stevedore activities, ensuring safe, efficient operations.

You will plan daily tasks, manage capacity, coordinate with stakeholders, monitor safety and reporting, and oversee labour deployment to meet demand while maintaining high standards.

About the role:

As Casual Stevedore Coordinator, you’ll lead the coordination of port-based transport and Stevedore activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

• Plan and supervise daily stevedoring and transport tasks
• Manage capacity and scheduling in alignment with customer agreements
• Collaborate with stakeholders on operational plans, approvals, and infrastructure works
• Oversee safety, service standards, and compliance within the operational area
• Support incident response and lead investigations as needed
• Maintain accurate reporting and system records, including rosters and payroll
• Oversee labour allocation and workforce deployment to ensure operational demands are met while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

About you

We’re looking for a hands‑on leader with strong operational insight and experience in logistics or stevedoring environments.

• Experience in logistics, stevedoring, or transport coordination
• Proven leadership in high-volume, safety-critical settings
• Sound knowledge of safety management systems and compliance frameworksStrong planning, scheduling, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
• Proficient in using operational systems for planning, reporting, and data entry
• Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
• Flexible and available to work on short notice, including irregular hours and weekends as required
