Job summary

Aurizon Port Services is expanding operations in Port Adelaide and seeks multiple casual Stevedores to join our team. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment and support loading/discharging cargo across rail and port operations.

Roles require MSIC eligibility, various crane and forklift tickets, and availability for long shifts, weekends, and short-notice deployments. Pre-employment checks apply; FIFO/DIDO not offered.

Qualifications

• Previous stevedoring knowledge and experience.
• Ability to obtain Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC) – Mandatory.
• Hold or be able to obtain C1 Mobile Harbour Crane, Ships crane, Reach stacker, Forklift and Dogman tickets.
• Must be available to work at short notice and across day/afternoon/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate loading and discharge of cargo including bulk goods.
• Operate equipment: Gottwald cranes, reach stackers, front end loaders, Skid steers, excavators, forklifts.
• Drive vehicles on/off Ro-Ro vessels and perform shipboard/wharf duties.
• Carry out tally clerking and basic administrative tasks.
• Ensure loading/unloading schedules are followed.

About the role:

Aurizon Port Services is expanding operations in Port Adelaide, and we are seeking multiple casual Stevedores to join our team in this dynamic and exciting environment. With and the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment—including Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, reach stackers, front end loaders, Skid steers, excavators, forklifts, and light vehicles—you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Australian rail and port operations.

As a Stevedore with Aurizon, your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating the loading and discharge of cargo, non-containerised cargo, and bulk products.
• Operating machinery including Gottwald mobile harbour cranes, reach stackers, front end loaders, Skid steers, excavators, forklifts, and light vehicles.
• Driving vehicles on/off Roll-on Roll-off vessels.
• Conducting shipboard and wharf duties, ship loading and other general duties.
• Basic administrative duties including tally clerking.
• Ensuring adherence to loading/unloading schedules

About you:

We are seeking individuals who have:

• Previous stevedoring knowledge and experience. Experience in loading and unloading Trains highly regarded.
• Ability to obtain Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC) – Mandatory
• Hold the following tickets or ability to obtain - C1 Mobile Harbour Crane, Ships crane, Reach stacker, Forklift and Dogman.
• Must be available to work at short notice.
• Must be flexible with availability and be able to workday, afternoon, nightshifts, and weekends as required.
• Available to work up to 12-hour shifts (as required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A steadfast commitment to safety.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Please Note: Successful applicants must pass pre-employment checks, including a medical. Stevedore roles are not offered as FIFO/DIDO positions.
