Job summary

Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a Sterilisation Technician Grade 1/2 at Wyong Hospital. The role involves cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising medical equipment to ensure safe patient care and timely availability of reprocessed instruments.

Ideal candidates will have a Sterilising Technology Certificate or be willing to undertake accreditation, with strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team, while upholding infection

Qualifications

• Sterilising Technology Certificate, or willingness to undertake an accredited Sterilising Certificate.
• Strong attention to detail in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of infection control and Work Health and Safety requirements.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet required standards.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and safe sterilising practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and sterilise medical and surgical equipment according to standards.
• Prepare and distribute reprocessed equipment to clinical areas for patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment with good risk management.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clinical teams to keep workflows efficient.
• Participate in training, accreditation, and quality improvement activities.
