Job summary

Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill is seeking a Sterilisation Technician to join our CSSD team. The role focuses on the preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical and surgical instruments to prevent infection and ensure safe patient care.

This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary of $81,255.08 plus super, 38-hour weeks, and generous leave and salary packaging options.

Qualifications

• The Sterilisation Technician is primarily responsible for the preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical & surgical instruments and equipment to prevent the transmission of infection, working within a small team under routine supervision.
• Ensure reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment are safely prepared for use through the completion of cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation and thermal disinfection processes within the CSSD in Broken Hill Health Service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilise, store and thermally disinfect reusable medical and surgical instruments to prevent infection.
• Ensure instruments are cleaned, inspected, assembled, packaged and sterilised in the CSSD at Broken Hill Health Service.

What You'll Be Doing
