Job summary

The Broken Hill Health Service, part of Far West Local Health District, seeks a Staff Specialist Physician to deliver General Physician care to diverse public and private patients in rural NSW.

You will supervise junior medical staff, exercise autonomy in a smaller facility, and contribute to education and training while enjoying a meaningful country lifestyle and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA and current medical registration.
• Proven ability to supervise and educate junior medical staff.

Selection Criteria

• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Demonstrated technical and professional competence in the specialty, including recent hospital experience within the specialty.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi‑disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, Colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites. Demonstrated commitment to provision of a high standard of clinical care in the public sector setting.
• Evidence of continuing medical education and self‑monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
• Demonstrated evidence of clinical education and supervision of Junior Medical Officers and commitment to education and training of the multi‑disciplinary clinical workforce.
