ASC is seeking a STEM & Schools Engagement Lead to shape our national schools strategy and connect students with career opportunities across ASC. You will collaborate with schools, education providers, industry partners and government to create pathways from school into apprenticeships and further education.

Based in Henderson WA or Port Adelaide SA, this full-time role focuses on expanding programs across WA and SA and eventually nationally, supporting ASC's long-term workforce growth.

About the Opportunity

ASC is seeking a passionate and strategic STEM & Schools Engagement Lead to shape and deliver our national schools engagement strategy, helping to build the future workforce for the Australian Submarine Enterprise.

In this role, you will develop and lead innovative STEM and experiential learning programs that connect students with career opportunities across ASC. Working closely with schools, education providers, industry partners and government stakeholders, you will create pathways from school into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and employment.

With an initial focus on Western Australia and SouthAustralia, you will build strong stakeholder relationships, enhance awareness of careers within the submarine enterprise, and deliver programs that inspire the next generation while supporting ASC's long-term workforce growth. Through strategic planning, engagement activities and measurable program outcomes, you will play a key role in strengthening Australia's future talent pipeline.

This is a full-time opportunity based at either Henderson site in Western Australia or Port Adelaide, South Australia. Applications welcome from SA and WA; however, we have a strong preference for a WA based candidate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver ASC's national STEM and Schools Strategy, ensuring alignment with workforce and Australian Submarine Enterprise priorities.
• Design and implement innovative STEM and experiential learning programs that engage primary and secondary students and promote career opportunities at ASC.
• Build and strengthen education pathways that connect students to apprenticeships, traineeships, vocational education, higher education and future employment opportunities.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with schools, careers counsellors, teachers, education providers, industry partners and government stakeholders.
• Lead school engagement initiatives, including site visits, workplace learning experiences, career events and industry exposure activities.
• Expand ASC's schools’ engagement programs across South Australia, Western Australia and other states as the program grows nationally.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on program effectiveness, participation outcomes and return on investment to support continuous improvement.
• Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in compliance with ASC policies, procedures and governance requirements.

About you

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years demonstrated experience developing and implementing education, learning or workforce development strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
• Proven ability to build and influence relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, with exceptional communication, negotiation and engagement skills.
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment.
• A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work autonomously, solve problems and drive initiatives from concept to delivery.
• Experience designing and delivering education, training, STEM, careers, workforce development or engagement programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas, influence decision-making and engage a variety of audiences.
• Experience within the education sector, careers pathways, vocational education, workforce development or government education environments will be highly regarded.
• Project Management qualifications or certifications are advantageous.

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
