Steel Storeman – Afternoon Shift (Forklift Licensed)

Job summary

United Steel Perth is seeking a motivated Storeman to join our busy steel distribution and processing team at Perth Airport. You will be responsible for safe handling, storage, picking and dispatch of steel products in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Warehouse/Operations Manager, this role requires a current forklift licence, good numerical skills and accuracy, and the ability to work as part of a team while upholding workplace safety.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or storeman experience, preferably in steel or manufacturing.
• Current Forklift Licence (essential).
• Good numerical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory/warehouse systems.
• Overhead Crane Licence or experience is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of steel products, storage, and distribution processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and safely store incoming steel products and materials.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes where licensed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Ensure safe storage of steel products and maintain a clean warehouse.
• Collaborate with production, dispatch, and sales to meet delivery requirements.
