Job summary

Synaco Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced Steel Fixer for a busy reinforcement steel operation in Lansvale, NSW. This role offers day, afternoon and night shifts with overtime and a strong focus on safety.

You will interpret drawings, tie reinforcing steel, assemble cages, read schedules, load and position steel, and work as part of a team to meet production targets across all shifts. Candidates should be physically fit with proven steel fixing experience.

Qualifications

• Proven steel fixing experience.

• Own belt & nips.
• Ability to read basic drawings and follow steel schedules.
• Physically fit and able to handle repetitive manual work.

Responsibilities

• Tie reinforcing steel to engineered drawings and specifications.
• Assemble and secure rebar cages, columns, beams and footings within the manufacturing facility.
• Use steel fixing tools including belt & nips throughout the shift.
• Measure, position and secure reinforcing bars accurately.
• Read and interpret basic plans and steel schedules.
• Assist with loading, moving and positioning reinforcing steel.
• Perform manual handling tasks in a production yard.
• Work safely while maintaining production targets across all shifts.

Steel Fixer

Shifts: 5am–1pm | 1pm–9pm | 9pm–5am (7 days/week operation)
Location: 152 - 154 Hume Highway, Lansvale, NSW, 2166

The Opportunity

We're looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join a busy reinforcement steel operation. There’s plenty of overtime available, with consistent work across day, afternoon and night shifts. If you've worked in precast, civil, commercial construction, rebar yards, or steel fixing crews, this is right up your alley.

What You’ll Do

• Tie reinforcing steel to engineered drawings and specifications.
• Assemble and secure rebar cages, columns, beams and footings within the manufacturing facility
• Use steel fixing tools including belt & nips throughout the shift.
• Measure, position and secure reinforcing bars accurately.
• Read and interpret basic plans and steel schedules.
• Assist with loading, moving and positioning reinforcing steel.
• Perform manual handling tasks in a production yard environment.
• Work safely while maintaining production targets across all shifts.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• Proven steel fixing experience.
• Ability to tie steel efficiently and accurately.
• Own belt & nips.
• Ability to read basic drawings and follow steel schedules.
• Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive manual work.

Great to Have

• Experience assembling rebar cages or working in a pre-fabrication environment.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Forklift licence (not required but highly regarded).

Shifts & Training

• Everyone starts on Day Shift to demonstrate capability.
• Once competent, move to Afternoon or Night Shift as operational requirements dictate.
• Ongoing support provided by experienced team members and supervisors.

PPE

• Bring your own: belt & nips, hard hat, steel cap boots, long sleeve shirt, and long trousers.
• Provided onsite: safety glasses and ear plugs.

Pay & Rostering

• Monday - Saturday: $47/hr + super for the first 56 hours. This is a loaded rate inclusive of all shift penalties and allowances.
• Sunday: $94/hr for all hours worked.
• Overtime: $94/hr for any hours worked over 56 hours weekly total.
