Job summary

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company, and 9News Adelaide seeks a Multimedia Journalist specialising in state politics to deliver exclusives across TV, digital and social platforms. Reporting to the News Director, you will lead high-impact coverage and produce compelling content for local news broadcasts.

Bring a journalism degree or equivalent experience, a fast-paced newsroom background, and a track record of cultivating contacts to secure exclusives; strong broadcast skills

Qualifications

• A degree in Journalism or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience reporting within a fast-paced television newsroom.
• A proven track record in reporting and cultivating high-level contacts to deliver exclusive stories.
• Exceptional broadcast presentation skills with the ability to think critically during live breaking news.
• Proficiency in digital publishing and social media storytelling alongside television production.
• Sound knowledge of South Australia’s parliament, media law, legal compliance and journalistic ethics.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research and break exclusive stories that set the daily South Australian news agenda.
• Build and maintain a trusted network of high-level contacts across all sides of politics.
• Produce high-quality television news reports while simultaneously filing digital-first copy and social assets.
• Deliver calm, authoritative and accurate live crosses from the field and in the studio.
• Collaborate constructively with newsroom colleagues under tight deadlines to maintain top production standards.
• Represent the 9News Adelaide brand with professionalism both on-air and across digital platforms.
