Nine Entertainment Co is seeking a Senior Business Writer for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. You will drive agenda-setting business and consumer coverage from our National Business team, crafting original stories for print, digital and on‑screen formats.

You will work across Sydney or Melbourne offices, with some weekend duties and a collaborative, deadline-driven approach. A strong network and data fluency are essential.

Qualifications

Significant experience in business reporting with a strong track record of breaking news.
Deep knowledge of corporate, economic and financial topics in the Australian market.
Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, engaging narratives.

Responsibilities

Break major original business and consumer news stories across print and digital platforms.
Produce features and insightful analysis on corporate, economic and social trends.
Cultivate a network of high-level industry sources.
Translate complex financial data into clear narratives for a broad audience.
Collaborate with photo, audiovisual and cross-masthead teams.
Present stories on camera for videos, podcasts and social channels.
