Job summary

Visy is seeking a State Manager to lead the VIC and SA Bulk operations, accountable for P&L, safety, and customer outcomes across a multi-site transport and warehousing network.

You will guide strategic growth, build high-performing teams, strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities to improve service, productivity and profitability. A senior leadership role reporting to the General Manager - Bulk.

As we continue to grow and diversify our Bulk Logistics operations, we're looking for an experienced and commercially astute State Manager to lead our Victoria and South Australia business.

This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for operational performance, profitability, customer outcomes, safety, and people leadership across a multi-site transport and warehousing network. Reporting to the General Manager - Bulk, you'll play a critical role in delivering growth, operational excellence and customer satisfaction across the region.

Role Details:

As State Manager, you will lead day-to-day operations across the VIC/SA Bulk business while driving strategic growth initiatives. With full P&L accountability, you'll oversee transport and warehousing operations, build high-performing teams, strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities to improve service, productivity and profitability.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage transport and warehousing operations across Victoria and South Australia.
• Take ownership of the state's financial performance, including full P&L accountability and budget achievement.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all operational, environmental and OH&S requirements.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building and maintaining key customer relationships.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and commercial outcomes.
• Monitor operational KPIs, service levels, productivity and profitability measures.
• Lead, coach and develop operational leaders and frontline teams.
• Support business growth through customer engagement, pricing, tender responses and operational solutions.
• Manage fleet maintenance expenditure and operational costs within agreed budgets.
• Drive employee engagement, succession planning and workforce capability development.

What You Will Bring

You are a proven transport and logistics leader with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to lead diverse operational teams across multiple sites.

• Extensive experience in transport, logistics, warehousing or supply chain operations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large operational teams.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L performance and budgets.
• Proven ability to deliver operational improvements and business growth initiatives.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and customer relationship skills.
• Experience leading organisational change and driving high-performance cultures.
• Strong understanding of safety systems, compliance and risk management.
• Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• A current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Desirable

• Formal qualifications within the logistics industry.
• Knowledge of SAP, WMS and TMS systems.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or 5S methodologies.
• Significant experience managing complex transport and warehousing operations.
