Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane seeks a Fellow in O&G for a 12‑month training position commencing in 2027. The role offers exposure to tertiary antenatal and intrapartum care, with opportunities in private practice and active involvement in teaching, audits, and research.
New Fellows with FRANZCOG or those expecting to attain FRANZCOG in early 2027 are encouraged to apply. Working hours are negotiable to accommodate private commitments and other duties.
Mater Mothers Hospital is a premier women’s health facility and Queensland’s largest maternity care provider, serving as a referral centre for complicated obstetric and MFM cases. A busy general gynaecology service compliments the maternity service, providing the women of South East Queensland access to expert ambulatory, major vaginal, abdominal and advanced laparoscopic surgeries.
Mater Health is excited to offer a unique training opportunity for a Fellow in O&G in 2027. Recognising the limited opportunities for Senior Registrars to transition into a Specialist role, we are offering a 12‑month position for one exceptionally talented new Fellow to join our service.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not‑for‑profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
This position offers excellent experience in tertiary level antenatal and intrapartum care in the largest maternity hospital in Australia. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within Mater’s own private practice model, in addition to operating lists in Brisbane’s busiest general gynaecology unit. The role involves working collaboratively with medical, midwifery and allied‑health colleagues to help us deliver consistent, evidence‑based, high‑value health care.
There will also be an opportunity to participate in the Mater’s Flying O&G Service, comprising week‑long gynaecology‑focussed rotations to rural and regional Queensland.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the teaching of junior Registrars, residents and students, and to be actively involved in the unit’s education, audit, risk management, administrative and research activities.
New Fellows (who have FRANZCOG, or are expected to attain FRANZCOG in early 2027) are encouraged to apply. Hours of employment will be negotiable to facilitate private work or other commitments.
