Job summary
NSW Health Bathurst Health Service seeks a Staff Specialist/Visiting Medical Officer in Gastroenterology and General Medicine to deliver comprehensive specialist medical services. The role includes inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology and hepatology care, endoscopy, and medical management with outreach as needed.
The successful candidate will contribute to service development, participate in an on-call roster, supervise registrars and junior doctors, and support medical student education
Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist.
- Fellowship of the applicable College is required.
- Ability to lead and supervise registrars, junior medical officers and medical students.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Experience in gastroenterology and general medicine is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology and hepatology care.
- Perform and assist with endoscopy and related procedures.
- Lead and educate junior medical staff and students.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits and service planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve regional outcomes.
