Job summary

UpGuard is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction across Product Engineering. You will remain hands-on while guiding architecture and scaling to process massive risk signals daily, collaborating with leadership to shape platform roadmaps.

You will contribute across squads, owning critical architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and raising the bar as we grow. A strong background in TS/React, Go, Postgres, and Kubernetes will help you succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies.
• Strong TypeScript and React proficiency.
• Backend language proficiency (Go) and solid Postgres skills.

Responsibilities

• Stay hands-on and ship features in a squad grounded in code and customer needs.
• Set cross-team technical direction and own architecture decisions spanning squads.
• Lead hardest scaling and data problems as the company grows toward 100 billion risk signals per day.
• Raise engineering standards across the org through code review, mentoring, and clear guidelines.
• Shape the roadmap with engineering and product leadership: what to build as well as how to build it.
