Job summary

Gridsight is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Infrastructure Platform team as the first IC on the group. You will own problems end to end, shape the technical direction, and build a platform that other product teams self-serve across Australia, New Zealand and the US.

You'll lead observability, CI/CD, multi-region infrastructure and security controls, mentor engineers, and drive the platform as a product with clear interfaces, docs and support.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, staff level or equivalent.
• Deep production cloud infrastructure experience (AWS).
• Strong IaC skills, preferably Terraform.
• Proven observability platform experience.
• Hands-on SRE with SLOs and incident response.
• Experience running a platform as a product.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead observability platform development across teams.
• Advance deployment pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Design secure, multi-region infrastructure.
• Define SLOs and error budgets.
• Improve incident response and on-call practices.
• Mentor engineers and shape platform roadmap.
• Collaborate with IT Ops on SOC 2 controls.
• Run the platform as a product with clear interfaces.
