Job summary

Culture Amp is seeking a Staff Engineer to help build its internal-facing Agent Hub, a central platform for designing, shipping, and governing autonomous agents. This is a genuinely greenfield initiative where you will help define architecture, patterns, operating model and guardrails for safe, production-ready agents.

You will work across the business to turn ambiguous friction into practical AI-enabled workflows, contributing to a scalable platform and reusable patterns for teams to operate

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering skills in TypeScript and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience delivering and operating cloud-native solutions in AWS, with security and identity in production.
• Practical experience with AI agents, MCP or similar tooling, and orchestration across agent systems.
• Working knowledge of agent platforms including tool permissions, identity propagation, session state, tokens, retries, tracing, cost attribution, auditability.
• Experience designing knowledge/memory architectures (vector/graph retrieval) and judging build vs. buy decisions.
• Track record of turning ambiguous problems into shipped, governed solutions with stakeholder buy-in.
• Ability to define platform boundaries and self-service patterns for teams to move independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction for the Agent Hub's foundational capabilities: execution, orchestration, tools, identity, context, and visibility.
• Design, build, and operate autonomous agents, workflows, and integrations for internal use cases.
• Build reusable MCP servers and tool patterns with clear schemas, credential brokering, and auditable interactions.
• Shape the knowledge/context layer with document retrieval, vector search, and semantic models.
• Establish engineering practices for secure deployment, testing, observability, and cost awareness.
• Collaborate with teams to identify high-value problems and deliver adopted solutions.
• Evolve agent registry and governance to ensure ownership, purpose, and data access.
• Coach and guide through architecture patterns and playbooks to enable fast, safe delivery.
