Job summary

Workday in Australia is looking for a Database Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in open-source databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, plus cloud-native platforms. You will manage production-scale database environments, focusing on high availability, security, and performance to support enterprise workloads.

You will participate in on-call rotations, drive automation for reliability, and help design scalable database services for our production environment.

Qualifications

• Production-grade database engineering experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Experience with clustering, HA, backup and disaster recovery.
• Linux, Kubernetes, Docker proficiency.
• Scripting in Shell or Python (or similar).
• Experience with cloud DB platforms (Aurora, Cloud SQL).
• BS or MS in CS with required years.

Responsibilities

• Support large-scale MySQL and open-source databases in production and development.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production issues.
• Drive automation to improve availability and scalability.
• Help architect database services for production environments.
