Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Technical Director – Environmental Approvals in Australia’s WA team to drive pursuit, delivery and client relationships across major projects. You will foster technical excellence, align with a national strategy and lead growth in WA, SA and VIC markets while maintaining a zero-harm HSE culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or related field.
• 20–25+ years experience in Environmental Approvals.
• Proven ability to build effective teams and lead strategy and growth.
• Strong focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Experience with industry leads and client relationship managers to drive revenue.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving; builds strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing strategy, pursuit, management and delivery of major projects.
• Fostering technical excellence within WSP’s Ecology & Environmental Approvals Business Unit.
• Support the delivery of a successful Expertise/Technical Excellence strategy and Technical Training programs.
• Lead growth of new client relationships and portfolios across VIC, SA and WA markets, aligned with WSP growth areas.
• Lead and role model a zero harm HSE culture, ensuring safety and environmental obligations are met.
• Support strategic technical hiring and workforce planning to build depth and resilience.
