Job summary

Xpt Software Australia Pty is seeking a SQL Server Architect/DBA to design, implement and optimize SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud platforms in Melbourne. You will drive availability solutions, perform migrations, and ensure security and performance of critical data systems.

The role requires strong knowledge of SQL Server features (AG, MIR, Log Shipping, Replication) and extensive scripting with T-SQL and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable SQL Server architecture knowledge.
• Proven ability to drive results within IT projects.
• Experience with Availability Groups, Mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication.
• Experience with SQL Server migrations on-premises and to public clouds.
• Experience with Azure and AWS SQL Server services (Managed Instance, SQL Database, RDS).
• Understanding of ITIL processes and core operations.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting; broad system administration skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and resolve problems in a team environment.
• Willingness to operate in a 24x7 support model.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support SQL Server architecture and availability features.
