Job summary

TaltentTrek is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. You will automate provisioning, manage security and monitoring, and collaborate with development and security teams to ensure reliable application delivery.

The role focuses on implementing CI/CD pipelines, handling backups and DR, and optimizing costs while maintaining performance. Strong scripting, IaC, and cloud platform experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing, virtualization, storage and networking.
• Experience administering Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Proficiency in scripting using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or equivalents.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing).
• Understanding of cloud security and least-privilege access.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, backup and recovery tools.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills.
• Desirable: relevant cloud certifications.
• Desirable: experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Desirable: serverless computing and managed DB services.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Engineer designs, deploys and maintains cloud infrastructure across our environments, from provisioning and automation through to security, monitoring and cost optimisation.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud environments.
• Configure and manage virtual machines, storage, databases, networking and cloud services.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Monitor system availability, performance and capacity, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Implement identity and access management, network security, encryption and logging controls.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures and business continuity testing.
• Support application and data migrations to cloud environments.
• Optimise cloud resource usage and costs while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with development, security and operations teams to support application delivery.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, deployment procedures and operational runbooks.

What we're looking for
