Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join the Information Technology team on a 2 year fixed term full‑time basis, based in our Archerfield office. You will administer and optimise the Microsoft SQL Server environment for stability, performance, security and high availability.

You will monitor health, perform tuning, implement backup/DR plans, support projects, ensure governance and manage external vendors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in SQL Database Administration within an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including high availability solutions and Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong SQL scripting to work through complex data structures.
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting database architectures and data management solutions.
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders and translating technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Microsoft SQL certifications highly regarded.

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team on a 2 year fixed term full‑time basis, based in our Archerfield office. Reporting to the Enterprise Applications Platform Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, security and availability of Hastings Deering's Microsoft SQL environment.

This role is responsible for the administration, optimisation and continuous improvement of SQL database platforms that support critical business applications across the organisation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, project teams and external partners, you will provide expert technical guidance while helping to deliver reliable, scalable and high‑performing database solutions that support business outcomes.

• Experience supporting Exchange and Microsoft365 environments.
