Qualifications

• Experience painting structural steel with epoxies and primers.
• Familiar with airless spray equipment and WFT gauges.
• Proven surface preparation and abrasive blasting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, grinding, sanding and blasting.
• Apply single-pack zinc phosphate primers using airless spray pumps.
• Apply two-pack epoxies, polyurethane and polysiloxane coatings to high standards.
• Use Wet Film Thickness gauges to measure coating thickness.
• Mix and handle paints with powered tools safely and accurately.

Our client is an industry leader in complex steel structures and steel construction looking for an experienced Spray Painter / Painter to join their coatings team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a painter with experience in automotive or industrial spray painting who’s looking to transition into structural steel coatings. You’ll enjoy consistent full-time hours, a supportive environment, and the chance to secure a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare steel surfaces through cleaning, grinding, sanding, and blasting.
• Apply single-pack zinc phosphate primers using airless spray pumps.
• Apply two-pack epoxies, polyurethane, and polysiloxane coatings to high standards.
• Use Wet Film Thickness (WFT) gauges to measure and record coating thickness.
• Mix and handle paints using powered tools safely and accurately.

What You’ll Need

• Experience painting structural steel using single- and two-pack epoxies.
• Skilled with airless spray equipment and familiar with WFT gauges.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and abrasive blasting.
• Experience operating overhead cranes safely (preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Automotive spray painters are encouraged to apply!
