Job summary

TAFE NSW Ryde Campus seeks a permanent, full‑time Technical Officer of Sports Turf & Parks & Gardens to maintain sports turf surfaces, support education delivery, and manage teaching resources. The role covers irrigation, pest and weed management, and compliance with chemical handling laws.

You will work across bowling greens, golf greens, fairways and cricket wickets, ensuring industry standards and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, Parks & Gardens or equivalent.
• AQF3 chemical application ticket or higher.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and techniques used in sports turf management.
• Ability to modify or adapt equipment to meet requirements.
• Strong organisational skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain delivery locations and equipment for teaching activities.
• Prepare and distribute teaching resources and materials.
• Monitor pest, disease and weed control programs for turfgrass and sites.
• Schedule irrigation and monitor maintenance of playing surfaces.
• Ensure chemical selection, application and recordkeeping meet regulations.
• Assist delivery team with turf area preparation for classes.
