Job summary

Plena Healthcare is seeking a mobile Speech Pathologist to deliver evidence-based swallowing and communication interventions to adults in Geelong and surrounding areas. You’ll manage your own calendar and travel, working across homes, residential aged care facilities and community settings with a diverse caseload.

The role offers clinical autonomy, strong supervision for new graduates, and opportunities to advance skills in dysphagia and communication within a national team.

Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology (degree or equivalent).
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle, as this is a mobile role.
  • A passion for supporting adults to live healthier, happier and more independent lives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide evidence-based intervention for swallowing and communication difficulties.
  • Support adults with complex and changing clinical needs.
  • Provide dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention across residential aged care and community settings.
  • Deliver telehealth assessment and intervention where appropriate.
  • Manage your own calendar, appointments and travel schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, facility staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and recommendations to clients, families, support staff and colleagues.
  • Advocate for clients and help them maintain their communication, independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Connect with our national Speech Pathology team to share knowledge and clinical expertise.

What you’ll be doing

As a mobile Speech Pathologist, you’ll:
