Job summary

Plena Healthcare is seeking an adult-servicing Speech Pathologist to join our mobile team in NSW Central Coast. This permanent part-time role supports adults in residential aged care and the community, with telehealth options and potential national travel.

You’ll assess swallowing and communication and collaborate with a national team to ensure optimum care. We provide supervision, a $500 annual PD allowance, Shine Days, and a strong development program.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Speech Pathology with active membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
• Willingness to travel; driver's licence and reliable transport are critical.
• Open to recent graduates and experienced clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage calendar of appointments with flexible hours and locations.
• Assess and diagnose swallowing and communication difficulties.
• Potential for national travel to support regional clients.
• Provide telehealth-based dysphagia and/or communication assessment and intervention.
• Liaise with the national team of Speech Pathologists.
• Advocate for clients with communication difficulties.
• Collaborate with staff, support coordinators and Plena colleagues to meet care needs.
• Provide consultative and educational support to clients, families and colleagues.

Your opportunity:

• Opportunity for an adult-servicing Speech Pathologist to join our team of mobile clinicians.
• Dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention for adults living in residential aged care and the community.
• Open to recent graduates and experienced clinicians.

Reporting to yourstate-based Speech Pathology Team Leader, you will provide high-quality mobile Speech Pathology services to adults living in residential aged care facilities and the local community. We support adults living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke, progressive neurological disorders and ageing-related decline.

You will have access to extensive resources alongside internal clinical supervision. You will have opportunities to attend internal and external workshops as well as $500 to attend professional development programs of your interest.

This is a permanent part time position, 2 days a week in NSW Central Coast. Open to casual.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing your calendar of appointments – we’re a flexible workplace, so you can choose the work hours and locations that suit you
• Assessing and diagnosing your clients’ swallowing and communication difficulties
• Potential for national travel to support clients in regional locations
• Provision of telehealth-based dysphagia and/or communication assessment and intervention
• Liaison with our close-knit national team of Speech Pathologists
• Advocating for support for clients with communication difficulties
• Working closely with organisational staff, support coordinators and your Plena colleagues to ensure optimum care needs are met
• Providing consultative and educational support to clients, their familiesand colleagues
