Job summary

Scope (Aust) is seeking a Speech Pathologist to join the Communication and Inclusion Resource Centre (CIRC). You will plan, deliver, and evaluate services for clients with diverse communication needs, focusing on AAC and accessible information. The role involves consultancy to stakeholders and active representation at events.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to materials development, and support data collection and reporting in a nationally recognised centre.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Speech Pathologist with registration/eligibility to practice
  • Knowledge of AAC systems and multimodal communication
  • Experience with diverse client groups including disability and human services
  • Ability to manage stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Experience preparing concise reports for specific audiences

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate services to clients based on individual strengths and needs
  • Develop materials on AAC and Accessible Information for multiple platforms
  • Provide AAC advice and consultancy to stakeholders
  • Fulfill administrative requirements including data collection and record keeping
  • Represent Scope at forums, seminars and conferences

About Your Role

Scope has an exciting and unique opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to work within our Communication and Inclusion Resource Centre. The Communication and Inclusion Resource Centre (CIRC) is a nationally recognised leader in capacity building for people with communication disability and/or low literacy, operating for 20+ years. We enrich lives by creating supportive, connected and inclusive communities, where everyone has a voice and is heard. CIRC employs a diverse, multidisciplinary team including people with disability, speech pathologists, access consultants, educators, and project managers.

Your Key Focus
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate services to clients and customers, which build on individual strengths, needs and priorities
  • Developing materials and information on AAC, Accessible Information and Communication Access on a variety of platforms if required
  • Provide AAC advice, information and consultancy to a range of stakeholders
  • Fulfil administrative requirements such as data collection and record keeping
  • Representing Scope at forums, seminars and conferences
What We Look For
  • At least four years clinical experience with children or adults in a range of models of service provision, particularly with people with complex communication needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of therapy within the disability, human services or community sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge of comprehensive AAC systems and multi-modal communication.
  • Demonstrated skills in stakeholder management to achieved positive outcomes
  • A demonstrated ability in providing training to a range of communication partners
  • An understanding and sensitivity to the rights and dignity of people with disabilities in line with current legislation
  • A demonstrated ability to write concise reports targeted for specific purposes
